why do you think its important to give toddlers opertunities to make choices

My toddler wants to be in control and she is really sassy. For example, she wants to pick out her own clothes to wear. She was picking ridiculous things for school and church so I started giving her a choice of 2 or 3 outfits. It worked! She begin to feel she had control and I gave her choices that were acceptable to me.
That’s one example but I use that with food, entertainment and etc.

well like a simple choice apple or banana? well everyone has preferences and like to make their own choices in life…
teaching a toddler to make choices early on it helps them develop mentally and if we Advise Healthy decisions and choices the better choices they make in the future….
just my opinion
make them feel like they have power, even though they might feel like they cant do anything. also, gives them independence and confidence
At times it will drive you crazy, but it’s good for them to learn to make decisions on their own. It’s an important self-help skill that will drive you crazy because it leads to them taking 30 minutes to pick out a cereal or what shirt to wear that day.
